Parent Party

We have great friends in Florida that have done a lot for us with baby on the way. Jarrod and Sarah's brother John painted our baby's room for us a few weeks ago, which was a great help. Jim has his hands full with so many other things and I obviously couldn't do it, so our friends pitched in to help.

Our friends Sarah and Jenn threw us a "Parent Party" yesterday. Their idea was to have a party to bring all of us together to celebrate and hang out one last time, but with a focus on the parents. It was for the guys and girls, and we got to hang out with our entire group maybe for the last time before the baby is here! Sarah and Jarrod surprised Jim by flying Chopp down for the weekend. It was such a nice thing for them to do, and it meant a lot to Jim and me. They had my favorite food at the party (Olive Garden, of course) and that was enough to win any pregnant girl's heart!

Sarah also surprised us with a time capsule for our baby to open when he or she is 21 years old that will include a note from each of the party guests, a bottle of wine to be opened that day, and various things from the baby's birth year, 2006. The guests brought gifts that were meant for us, including gift certificates to stores, restaurants, and a beautiful palm for our new patio. Our friends went above and beyond to give us a fun party and we love them for it!
